Welcome to my professional Drawing and Painting Portfolio. One of my defining principles is establishing an open dialogue between form and function in all aspects of my artwork. I am on a never-ending journey to use this dialogue and find new ways to innovate and add depth to my work. Explore my updated Portfolio to see this in action and discover my influences and inspiration behind some of my proudest accomplishments. Get in touch through my "About" page for more information.

Everyone has a right to make art.
In troubled times such these we need to cherish the things that bring
value, beauty, and understanding to our ever-struggling world.

THESIS 2020
My work is constructed rather than created; I find my place balancing chaos and control. I seek to familiarize myself with shapes, colors, and lines that attract me. Through this process I make sense of the things I see around me everyday. By extracting and reorganizing I can relate my experiences to others in the hopes of bringing unity to the ever-chaotic world around us.

ANIMALS
Finding new ways to represent familiar concepts began for me in my study of animals. Particularly exaggerating their defining characteristics in a way that helps us appreciate what makes beautiful and unique.

SKINS
Diving deeper into an appreciation for the unique qualities of the species inhabiting this planet comes my study into the various types of skins and protective layers we find amongst us. This series is predominantly pen and ink with some experimentation into textures and colors on canvas.

LANDSCAPE
Some artists will tell you everything is a landscape. In my time investigating this theory I developed an appreciation for creating landscapes both from observation and inventing them from imagination. I found landscapes to be a form of escapism for me. it allows us to transcend our surrounding and find beauty and understanding in places and ideas that wouldn't otherwise be possible.

ABSTRACT
My abstraction began as a combination of landscape and language. The transfer of my painted images and use of expressive and controlled marks created the foundation of my abstract works.
